Terms of Use
Updated November 7, 2026
General conditions for services and features provided by Lantern Owl.
1. Scope and acceptance
These Terms govern services that provide or refer to them. Provisions about optional features apply only where those features are available. Please also read the Privacy Policy. If you disagree with applicable conditions, do not use the service. Use does not replace legally required specific consent or waive mandatory rights.
2. Eligibility
Observe the age rating and requirements shown in the service and distribution store. Minors must have the authorization and supervision required by local law. Adult-only features may not be used by minors. You are responsible for protecting your device and using features lawfully.
3. License and intellectual property
We grant a personal, limited, non-exclusive license to use the service under these Terms, without transferring ownership of software, trademarks or content. Texts, images, fonts, translations, voice models and other components may have separate owners and licenses; their specific notices and licenses take precedence for those materials. These Terms do not restrict rights granted by open licenses or law. Do not remove required attribution or redistribute materials without appropriate permission or licensing.
4. Created and shared content
You retain your rights in notes, text, images and other content you create. When requesting storage, processing or sharing, you authorize only the actions necessary for that feature. Local content does not become public merely by entering it into the service. Check recipients and settings before external sharing. Do not include other people’s personal data, protected content or sensitive information without appropriate grounds or permission. We do not acquire a general license to sell your content or use it in advertising.
5. Conduct and interactions
Do not use services for unlawful activities, threats, harassment, discrimination, child exploitation, fraud, spam, infringement, malicious code or counter manipulation. Do not access systems or data without authorization, circumvent security or impair availability. These rules do not prevent legitimate research or statutory rights. Interaction, comment and reporting features may be local or online as described; a local action does not guarantee delivery to or review by our team.
6. Content and results
Informational, educational, religious, reference and entertainment content may contain errors, differences between sources or pending updates. It is not individualized professional advice and does not guarantee qualifications, winnings, personal outcomes or other benefits. Verify important information with official sources and qualified professionals where appropriate. Speech synthesis and automated features may make pronunciation, interpretation or playback errors.
7. Internet, storage and third parties
Some features operate locally; others require internet access, additional downloads, free storage or system components. You are responsible for your connection provider’s charges. System text-to-speech depends on installed voices and may use online processing. Links, sharing, hosting, advertising and other third-party services are subject to their own terms and policies. Citing a source does not imply affiliation or endorsement. Third-party availability may change.
8. Pricing, advertising and purchases
Accepting these Terms alone does not create a charge or subscription. Where paid features, advertising or subscriptions are offered, applicable conditions, prices, billing periods and cancellation methods will be presented before purchase. The store or identified provider may process payments, cancellations and refunds without limiting mandatory consumer rights. This clause does not activate features absent from your version.
9. Privacy and data
The Privacy Policy describes applicable local data, server connections, providers, purposes and choices. Specific permissions and consents are handled separately where necessary. Uninstalling or clearing data may erase local records without deleting records already sent to servers or backups. We do not guarantee recovery of erased local data; use available export or backup options before removing important information.
10. Availability, changes and termination
We may fix, update or discontinue features for technical, security, legal or operational reasons. Where applicable, we will communicate material changes and honor paid-service obligations and consumer rights. We may proportionately restrict online features for abuse or security risks, with information and an opportunity to challenge the action where appropriate. You may stop using the service at any time. Data deletion follows the Privacy Policy and available controls.
11. Liability and legal rights
We make reasonable efforts to keep services functional and secure but do not promise uninterrupted operation, complete freedom from errors or universal device compatibility. Each party’s liability is determined by applicable law. Nothing excludes statutory warranties, consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Applicable laws and competent courts are determined by the relevant rules, preserving mandatory protections in your place of residence.
12. Updates and contact
We may update these Terms to reflect service changes or legal requirements. We will state the revision date, communicate material changes appropriately and seek renewed acceptance when required. For questions, problems, reports or challenges to restrictions, contact support@lanternowl.com, identifying the service and situation without sending passwords or unnecessary documents.
